This recipe comes from my mother in-law. It's so delicious that going for seconds is a must.
Apple OR Peach Cobbler
Combine:
1 Cup Sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Ground nutmeg
Toss w/ 6 cups sliced, paired apples OR peaches. Cook and stir over medium heat until almost
tender (about 7 minutes for apples and 5 min for peaches).
Biscuit Topper
1 Cup sifted all purpose flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 Tbsp. butter
¼ cup milk
1 slightly beaten egg
Sift together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in butter ‘til mixture resembles coarse
crumbs.. Combine milk & egg in
separate bowl, then add to dry ingredients.
Stir just to moisten, then set aside.
Pour apple mixture into 8 x 1-1/2” round dish. Dot apple mix with 1 tbsp. butter. Immediately spoon on biscuit topper in 6
mounds.
Bake @ 400 degrees 20 – 25 minutes.
Serve warm, serves 6.
