7th birthday Bike Cake

My son's birthday was coming up and I wanted to make a birthday cake for him.  I'm so glad I found this simple bike cake to make.  It turned out great and my son loved it as well!

Just start with a frosted 9- by 13-inch cake, decorate with a handful of colorful candies, and get ready to sing "Happy Birthday."
Ingredients
  • Frosted 9- by 13-inch cake
  • Black Twizzlers
  • M&M's or skittles
  • Any color of candy cane sticks
  • Green sprinkles
  • Small round candies
Instructions
  1. Wheels: Warm the licorice so it bends easier and shape into circles and place about 2 inches apart. Cut Twizzlers into ten 1-inch lengths and use them for spokes. Use frosting to glue an M&M's candy onto the center of each wheel.
  2. I Like My Bike Cake - Step 2 The frame: Break 4 to 5 candy sticks into the lengths specified in the diagram and arrange them on top of the cake as shown.
  3. Seat, handlebars: Cut 2 short lengths from a Twizzler and use one for the bike seat and one for handlebars.
  4. Pedals: For the sprocket, use a small round candy. For each pedal, cut and use some black twizzlers.
  5. Scenery: Use green sprinkles as grass under the bike and then outline the upper perimeter of the cake with skittles.
