Chili Verde


A simple crockpot recipe that will make your tummy smile at dinner time.



Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs lean pork cut into bite size pieces
1-2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
2 cans (4 oz) green chilies (I puree mine to trick the kids into eating chilies)
1 C water

Combine all ingredients in your crockpot.  Cook on low for 8-10 hours.  About 2 hours before eating, thicken up sauce by mixing cornstarch (about 1/4 C) with some of the sauce in a separate bowl then pour back into the crockpot. Check back within a 1/2 hr of eating and thicken sauce more to your liking, if needed. 

Use as filling for tortillas.  Sprinkle with grated cheese.  Yum!!
