4th of July Cake

This was a fun cake to make to celebrate the 4th of July.

I used a cake mix and divided the batter into three separate bowls and added blue food coloring to one and red food coloring to another bowl.  

I baked the three different colors separately in round cake pans.  

When cakes were completely cooled I put the three separate cakes in the freezer until hard.

Then I layered the three colors on top of each other.  I used a electric cutting knife to ensure that the top and bottom of the cake were nice and flat for the three layers.  Then frosted the cake and added blueberries and strawberries for the flag when I was ready to serve the cake.
