I surprised my son for his 12th birthday with a Pizza Cake. It was super fun to make.
Bake the cake in a round pan according to the directions. Then place wax paper over the cake and place another slightly smaller pan on top while the cake cools in order to make a indent to create the look of a pie crust.
For the decorations I used:
Red frosting for the pizza sauce
Fruit leather for the pepperoni cut into circles
Yellow gummy bears cut up for the pineapple
Shredded white chocolate for the cheese. I used the cheese grater for a thicker looking cheese and a fine grater to represent parmesan cheese.
Black nibs for the olives and used a round cake tip to cut out the center.
Afterwards I went to a pizza joint and got a pizza box to put the cake in. I love how it turned out!
